FAQ

How Do Horses Heal?

Medicine Horses are constantly bringing themselves into perfect balance energetically.  All Medicine Horses are able to assist any number of people within their energy field.  The horse can feel, in themselves where we are out of balance. By bringing that area(s) into balance in themselves, it helps us to come back to balance. Most horses, like Mr. Ed send great quanities of white healing light from their heart centres. Medicine Horses have generally larger hearts than most horses.

What Does Healing Look Like?

The Medicine Horses are able to focus their energy such that "vibrational entrainment" will appear between all participants without looking as if anything in particular is happening.  This allows everyone, of all ages and abilities to take part in this work, just by being present. Mr. Ed, through his animal communicator, has confirmed that "it may not look like much is happening" but assures us that a great deal of energy is being transmitted to and from people in his field.

The horse may look sleepy, or be eating hay, or just stand quietly.

How Big Is Their Energy Field?

Tools can be used, such as a dowsing device, to detemine how large a horse's field is. Generally it is about 20-25 feet in diameter.

What Does Energy Healing Feel Like?

What you may notice is how calm and quiet the horse may be around you. He or she may probe, nuzzle, breathe, exhale, yawn, shake, lick your hands or various parts of your body, and sometimes even lift your clothing away from your body.

The person can sit or stand to receive 15 minutes healing energy, followed by a 5 minutes interval in which a closing

energy technique (Zero Balancing or Bowen Therapy) will be performed by Pat or Cristal. A short debriefing follows, and meanwhile, Mr. Ed will get the opportunity to clear himself while he gets a grass-break.

What Might I Feel After?

Generally speaking, at the very least, a sense of calm and peace. While healing is appearing to be done on one person at a time, every person attending will receive healing *they may not notice at the time*. Comonly reported is reduced pain/fear/increased love/emotional well being/reduction of symptoms of issues they are dealing with. Remember, this is not any sort of allopathic-medicine based therapy. It is pure light and love from a caring, compassionate, healing animal.

Why Does the Horse Yawn/Snort/Sigh?

Horses yawn everyday to release some sort of nervous system stress. When a Medicine Horse does it, he or she is either blowing off nervous system stress of the person(s) he is working with, or for himself. Some Medicine Horses do not need to yawn at all as they can clear themselves energetically by tapping into Mother Earth energy to ground themselves.

Our Story
    • In June of 2012, my trainer suggested we see a horse she thought suitable for me.  She described him as a dark bay Thoroughbred gelding, 16.1 hands, a "school-master", and 17 years old. I was rather reluctant.
I had met him earlier in the year, and thought him rather distant. Though attractive, he wasn't my idea of a first horse - I hoped for a quarter horse mare, between 8 to 12 years old, about 15.2 hands. As for colour, I'd always wanted a medium bay horse.
    • Still, my trainer was persistent, and I finally relented. "Mr. Ed" was a ferry ride and a short drive away. After greeting his owner, I was invited to bring him up to the barn. We got settled into the cross ties and  I commenced grooming him. His summer coat was sleek and covered in dapples.
    • I was thinking, 'What a nice boy', when without warning waves of emotion began lapping at my heart. Soon my nose began dripping, as my eyes welled with tears. I was crying.
      I was dumbfounded.
    • The gelding almost looked asleep. Apart from the occasional swish to ward off flies,  he stood quietly. His dark, soft eyes were partly closed. "What?" I asked him silently, "Do you want to come home with me?"  I continued to ask, but didn't get an answer. Grooming done, I tacked him up and led him to the outdoor ring. The upwelling of emotion had subsided.
    • Under saddle, he was responsive and moved well. Mr. Ed seemed a good match for me, but I felt the timing wasn't right. I wasn't yet ready for a horse and wanted to buy in the coming spring. Besides, I thought, he's a Thoroughbred, a boy, older, and too tall!

    • Alone with Mr. Ed in his paddock, I said goodbye with regret. My eyes began to water, and again I was overcome with emotion. It was a teary drive home with my trainer casting odd looks in my direction. I could not decipher what I felt. How puzzling! That evening, I called my good friend, Reverend Julia Day.
    • Describing to her my day's experience, the waterworks started up again. Soon I was weeping uncontrollably. She immediately said, "Honey, that's a Soul connection! You need to buy him!"
    • And so I did. I completely re-organized my life! A week later, my trainer and I arrived with her horse trailer to collect Mr. Ed. He seemed to know exactly what was happening. Entering his paddock with halter and lead, I remained still while he approached me. Gently, Mr. Ed placed his muzzle and chin on my shoulder and closed his eyes.

    • We shared in our stillness for nearly a minute. No words can describe how deeply he touched my heart. He then proceeded to hug his owner good bye.

It's been over 7 years of being owned by Mr. Ed, and I have seen and felt many instances of heart-oriented communication. He simply "knows". Our connection feels telepathic, and is often energetic. There is great depth to our bond, and it is unwavering. With his heart shaped patch at the bottom of his white stripe, he is my special Heart Horse.
